Tidu Antonio Francesco Farm

The farm of Tidu Antonio Francesco is found amid the sunny rolling hills leading from the town of Teti to the valley of Rio Taloro and Lago Cucchinadorza.

Teti, with an altitude of about 714 meters and a population of roughly 800 inhabitants, is located in the center of Sardinia on the edge of the historic Barbagia region of Ollolai and is an integral part of the Gennargentu-Mandrolisai Mountain Community.

This Tetiese territory has a typical climate found in the mountainous Mediterranean inlands with hot and dry summers, humid and rainy autumns, and winter seasons with sudden bouts of cold air during which it is not uncommon to see snow.

The natural habitat is rich in wooded areas that foster an abundant growth of mushrooms. So rich in fungal species, in fact, the territory is regarded as a prime destination for enthusiasts and researchers. For locals, mushrooms represent an important resource which has now become an integral part of the local gastronomy.

The farm of Tidu Antonio Francesco is advantageously located in a forest area where native vegetation also leaves room for other exotic species. Perhaps even more productive, these species are acclimatized in such a way that they have become part of the natural landscape without causing any nuisance. Specifically, we refer to the splendid woods of chestnut, hazelnut and cherry trees, which act both as vital resources for these communities and as beautiful attractions from a touristic perspective.

The crops on the farm of Tidu Antonio Francesco’s orchard range from apples and pears, to cherries and apricots, to hazelnuts and peaches. Additionally, different varieties of vegetables are grown according to seasonal possibilities. The orchard also contains perennial fruit plants which live for extended periods of time and produce fruit for many years. Our wide assortment of fruits allow us to continue the production of our jams, preserves, fruit juices and ciders throughout the year.
