Sardinia honey
Roberto Arru’s beekeeping company

Born from the love and passion for apiculture, bees and honey, Roberto Arru’s beekeeping company produces honey of the highest quality.

Set in Austis, this beekeeping company is surrounded by the beautiful Barbagia countryside, deep in Sardinia hinterland, in Nuoro province. This uncontaminated environment far away from intensive farming practices is the ideal place for beekeeping.

Roberto Arru apist produces various types of honey following the seasons and the natural blooming of the flowers. In spring he produces heather, wild lavender, asphodel, wildflower and thistle honey. Summer in Sardinia is the season for eucalyptus honey in the south-west area of the island, near Oristano, while in the rugged countryside of Supramonte it is the perfect time for the highly prized camedrio maro honey.

Finally, in autumn, in the countryside of Austis, Roberto Arru produces ivy honey, autumn wildflower honey and the renowned bitter strawberry tree honey.

In 2020 the arbutus, eucalyptus, and millefiori honey types received the “A drop of gold” award at the national congress of Castel San Pietro terme “Great honeys of Italy”. Furthermore, in January 2021 the strawberry tree honey ranked in fifth place in the Gambero Rosso selection of the best Italian strawberry tree honeys.
